Comprehensive ADHD Assessment

ADHD evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults

I want to extend a warm welcome to those seeking help and understanding about ADHD. My approach to ADHD testing is comprehensive and empathetic, ensuring I understand the client as an individual and consider every aspect of their life.

ADHD isn't a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. Everyone's experience is different. That's why testing is so important. It helps us understand exactly what's going on and how best to support you or your loved one.

The ADHD evaluation is a process that includes a combination of clinical interviews, completion of written questionnaires, and use of standardized measures, in three or more one-on-one appointments with you and/or your child or adolescent.

To begin your journey towards better understanding and managing ADHD, here's the evaluation process in six easy steps:

1) Contact Dr. Laura Khoury to schedule your phone consultation: This initial conversation will allow us to discuss your specific assessment goals, potential benefits of testing, a tentative timeline, and the associated costs.

2) Complete intake paperwork before clinical interview appointment: The paperwork includes informed consent, an extensive questionnaire to gather comprehensive health history, and authorizations for Dr. Khoury to communicate with other service providers (e.g., teachers, therapist, doctor, etc.).

3) Clinical interview with parent or adult client (1-2 hours; virtual or in person): This interview involves reviewing your completed questionnaires and gathering additional information regarding your background, symptoms, and functioning.

4) Clinical interview with child (if age appropriate) (1 hour; in person preferred): This session provides Dr. Khoury with the opportunity to directly interact with the child and assess their behavior, symptoms, and functioning.

5) Face-to-face testing with child or adult client (1 hour; in person): This is a thorough and comprehensive examination conducted by Dr. Khoury.

6) Feedback session (1 hour; virtual or in person): The final stage of the process consists of a meeting with parents (and child, when appropriate) or adult client to provide feedback on findings, recommendations for school or work, home, and treatment, and referrals for any recommended services.

Fees

I implement a standardized charge for all comprehensive ADHD assessments. This set fee encompasses every aspect of the evaluation process. Acknowledging the substantial time and resources this evaluation entails, my dedication lies in answering all of your questions in a thorough manner. The cumulative fee amounts to $3000, billed in 3-4 payments during each appointment (the clinical interview, testing, and feedback sessions). I offer payment plans if needed.

Insurance Reimbursement

I am an out-of-network provider. This means that I am not a member of a provider network for any managed care plans. Your insurance plan may or may not cover visits to an out-of-network provider. You are responsible for payment of all charges, submission of bills to your insurance company, obtaining information about your coverage and making certain that we are both aware of any authorization requirements for psychological testing. I will provide you with a detailed superbill including all the necessary information should you choose to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Many insurance plans cover psychological services and many require the member to make a telephone call before an initial appointment. If you are interested in submitting for reimbursement, I recommend that you contact your insurance company to request information about out-of-network benefits for psychological consultation and testing prior to the first appointment. I will provide you an informational sheet that describes what many insurance companies request, including the CPT codes I use on the superbill.
